It’s the most wonderful time of the year, fall leaves, everything pumpkin, Friday night lights, college football, cooler weather… well, 3 out of 5 isn’t bad. September was a great week of visits, planning, and connection.
The month started off with a planning call with the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce to start plans for a great 2026 Executive Leadership Conference. Mark your calendars for April 28-30, 2026 for a can’t miss conference in the Rocket City!
The second week of the month found us headed to Geneva for a day well spent with the board of the Greater Geneva Chamber of Commerce as they envisioned a bright future for their organization. Thank you to Lori with the Dothan Chamber and Sandy with the Elba Chamber for joining us to support a neighbor chamber. That Friday was all things Leadership with the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce hosting their Ignite! Leadership Summit. Congrats to Laura and the entire team on a fun, informative day! And again, in true collaborative, chamber fashion, the Greater Coosa Valley Chamber of Commerce and Alexander City Chamber of Commerce was on hand to support their Sylacauga neighbors.
The third week of the month was Talk About it Tuesday! With Teri and Starfish Partnerships talking All Things Chamber followed by our Region 4 Regional Meeting here in Montgomery. Thank you to the chambers (Prattville Chamber, Millbrook Chamber, Demopolis Chamber, Auburn Chamber, Headland Chamber) that joined us for a great discussion on how Alabama Chambers can better support each of you and to great conversations on timely topics.
Finally, what a treat and honor to travel to Kentucky to be with our friend and colleague Amy Cloud for her Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives Annual Conference as they celebrated 60 years of service. I was honored to present a breakout session on Sparking Ideas to create Better Board Meetings.
As the month comes to a close we are in the final stretches of preparation for the 2025 Professional Development Conference presented by The Fund and hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. We look forward to seeing those of you who can join us.
So, I’m off to put up Halloween decorations, drink another Pumpkin Spice Latte, watch Gilmore Girls, and dream of wearing that cute new fall sweater… Happy October everyone!
