August proved to be a hot month in Alabama (isn’t it always) and your Alabama Chambers team was hot on the road working and visiting.The month kicked off with the largest BCA Government Affairs Conference to date! It was phenomenal weekend at The Grand in Point Clear with BCA, government and business leaders from across Alabama. Kudos to the entire BCA team for a job well done!

Eight Finalists participated in the Alabama statewide competition: an in-person live event featuring two rounds of civics questions followed by a Q&A round to test their civics knowledge. Lucas Garrard from Dauphin Junior High School took first place, followed by Caroline Roach and Rohan Sahoo for second and third places, respectively.

On Friday, July 18, 2025, the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (Alabama Chambers) will host the 2025 National Civics Bee aimed at encouraging more young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Twelve middle-school students from across Alabama will participate in the competition to demonstrate their civics knowledge and discuss how they would solve a problem facing their community.
